Riggs Motorsports Readies for Toilet Bowl Classic at Clarksville Following Speedweeks
 
HARRISBURG, IL (February 27) - Following an ultra-busy start to their 2014 racing season in Georgia and Florida, Riggs Motorsports drivers Brian Shirley and Jason Riggs are both scheduled to compete next in the annual running of the 'Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic.'  Weather pending, the Clarksville Speedway in Clarksville, Tennessee will once again place host to the two-day show on March 7-8.  The MARS DIRTcar Series and UMP DIRTcar Series will co-sanction the 10th Annual 'Tuckasee Toilet Bowl Classic,' which pays $3,000 to the winner on Friday night and boasts a $5,000 top prize on Saturday evening.  Additional information on Clarksville Speedway can be obtained by pointing your web browser to www.clarksvillespeedway.com.
 
Both Brian Shirley and Jason Riggs kicked off their respective campaigns in recent weeks at Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia and East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida, while Brian also soldiered on to Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida as well.  In all, the two Dirt Late Model chauffeurs from the Land of Lincoln amassed eighteen feature starts from February 7-22 and accumulated one Top Five effort and a trio of Top Ten performances.
 
Brian, who hails from Chatham, Illinois, posted his best finish of "Speedweeks" in the 'Winternationals' opener at East Bay Raceway Park on Monday, February 10.  Brian ran fourth in heat race action prior to picking off ten competitors during the $5,000 to win A-Main to finish fourth behind only victor Eddie Carrier, Jr., Devin Moran, and Brandon Sheppard.  The popular driver known as "Squirrel" also recorded a solid seventh place outing on February 8 at Golden Isles and a ninth place finish in the daytime affair at East Bay on February 15.  Brian parlayed some of those strong runs with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series to lay claim to the tenth spot in the current version of the Championship point standings.
 
Jason, who competed only at Golden Isles and East Bay, got better each time he took to the racetrack during "Speedweeks 2014."  His best effort down south came in a $5,000 to win Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series battle at East Bay on Tuesday, February 11.  Jason ran sixth in his heat race and third in his B-Main, which locked him into the inside of the eleventh row for the start of the 25-lap feature event.  The Harrisburg, Illinois native then thrilled the fans in attendance at the 1/3-mile oval by passing ten cars on his way to a respectable eleventh place performance.  You can read a detailed race-by-race recap from "Speedweeks" by logging onto www.RiggsMotorsports.com.
